I’m standing outside the classroom listening to my ipod, waiting for the professor to show, and this dude in my class interrupts my music to ask what I’m listening to.

I show him, and he asks if he can listen.

He said they sounded like one of those indie bands that make indie music.

I wanted to explain that Blue Oyster Cult is a psychedelic/heavy metal band from the 70s, and are in no way “indie” because they were signed to Columbia, and if you’ve ever watched classic SNL, you would at least recognize Don’t Fear The Reaper.

But I didn’t bother. I doubt he’d care to hear anyway.

So I let the song finish, and changed it to The Doors so I could listen to more of my indie music.
